The Beach Boys – Sloop John B

The Beach Boys is one of the groups in the sound track of American Graffiti. They were quite popular in the 60’s, but I never really listened to them. (I was more into Beatles and Stones.) After reviewing American Graffiti, I went to YouTube just for fun to listen to something else with them. I must say that they were not bad at all!

Watercolours by Winslow Homer

I can’t say that I have earlier been touched by the American artist Winslow Homer’s paintings, but then I came across these water colours, and I thought they were exquisite!

They are on display at the National Gallery of Art, Washington

Sissel Kyrkjebø, Warren G – Prince Igor

Another example of a beautiful meeting between different cultures. The Norwegian soprano Sissel Kyrkjebø sings togeteher with American rapper Warren G in this number from the album The Rapsody Overture (1998) . Warren G. raps his song Reality, while Sissel Kyrkjebø sings the Russian refrain from Alexandr Borodin’s opera Prince Igor.

Exciting!
