I Claudius

ClaudiusI rarely watch TV, but I find it hard to resist a well-done BBC-series!

This is an adaption from 1976 of Robert Graves’s novels I Cladius and Claudius the God. It follows the history of Rom, narrated by the elderly Claudius, from the death of Marcellus, nephew and son-in-law of Augustus, in the first episode to Claudius’ own death in the last. The leading part is played by Derec Jacobi, who won a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award for his performance. Herbert Wise directed the series.

The series is available on DVD, but you can also watch all the episodes on YouTube.
